Brief Job Description
The Director of Research plays a crucial leadership role, overseeing the supervision, evaluation, and performance management of a diverse team of research personnel, including Entomologists, Biologists, Technicians, and Interns. This position is responsible for spearheading the design, execution, and analysis of surveillance activities and research programs, ensuring that data collection and analyses adhere to high standards. The Director of Research evaluates research outcomes, communicates key findings to stakeholders, and keeps the executive team updated on advancements in mosquito control techniques and methodologies. Additionally, this role is pivotal in the development of strategic partnerships and collaborative projects across industry, academia, and government sectors. The position oversees the department's budgeting and goal setting and disseminates research findings through scientific publications and presentations.
While the successful candidate will have an office in the Administration building, they will frequently work in the field. Fieldwork includes but is not limited to schools, businesses, governmental organizations, media outlets, in District aircraft, laboratory, mosquito habitat, professional and political gatherings, conferences, symposia, and more.
