The Procurement Specialist position is responsible for the materials purchasing/planning function and has ownership of material flow from Purchase Order until receipt. This requires involvement in supplier selection, purchase order placement, cost control and inventory management in support of customer service goals. This role will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Managers, Customer Service, Operations and Accounting.

Description
The Procurement Specialist position is responsible for the materials purchasing/planning function and has ownership of material flow from Purchase Order until receipt. This requires involvement in supplier selection, purchase order placement, cost control and inventory management in support of customer service goals. This position utilizes the ERP system for all operational transactions and analytical work required for order fulfillment and inventory management required. This role will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Managers, Customer Service, Operations and Accounting.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute procurement of finished goods and components
- Maintain, monitor Master Data; supplier specific information, supplier spend information, supplier performance, shipping information
- Inventory Management: Create items in ERP, optimize inventory levels to ensure Customer Service goals are met, while developing creative methods for improving inventory turns
- Maintain purchase orders and shipment tracking information in Netsuite and Supplier Portals
- Research and development of suppliers to find best supplier options (improve cost, quality and/or delivery)
- Complete special projects and assignments
- Process Mapping, Work Instructions
- Establish and maintain relations with suppliers and appropriate representatives and direct and procure supplier technical and operating expertise as required to internal customer
- Maintain an awareness of materials and procurement concepts
- Control incoming freight and handling costs
- Responsible for optimizing material costs through vendor analysis, quality, schedule, cost evaluation, etc.
- Manages materials deliveries to meet project build schedules. Expedites materials and locates alternate suppliers as needed

Preferred: Technical knowledge/experience of 5 years preferably with Controls/Automation

Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000
