Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a highly motivated and ambitious Commodity Buyer I to join their team in Virginia Beach, VA. You will be responsible for coordinating activities involved in the procurement of goods and services required for production and operations according to established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have Strong knowledge of commercial terms and conditions and structuring contracts and payment/cancellation schedules to the company's best interests. Commodity Buyer I (1 years of purchasing exp req) Responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating the procurement of multiple, lower-complexity commodities
• Review and analyze procurement requirements and place orders accordingly
• Track price indexes, forecast future supplier market trends, and mitigate risks
• Research and develop competent suppliers of high-quality products and services
• Negotiate, redline, and manage contracts across assigned commodities
• Monitors and analyzes potential and current suppliers for financial and performance risks
• Lead cross-functional sourcing teams for RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
• Execute commercial evaluation of proposals and conduct negotiations of contracts
• Drive strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Work with suppliers to resolve product or service delivery problems
• Analyze the supplier’s financial stability, technical competence, capacity and capability
• Demonstrate consistent cost ssavings results and meet company targets
• Proactively perform supplier management activities
• Visit supplier locations as needed
• Support the ordering process, tracking of supplier onboarding, and management of NDAs

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 1 years of purchasing or procurement experience required
• Strong negotiating skills required
