    JOB SUMMARY

    Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, plan, and complete preventative maintenance, repair, installation and adjustment for the refrigeration systems, electrical/electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, programmable logic controllers, production machinery, and facilities support equipment. Supervisor and lead work of System Control Technicians.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    §  Main point of contact for the facility refrigeration and controls, water filtration, compressed air, and facility related systems in Swedesboro.

    §  Perform or manage all system related PM’s in Swedesboro.

    §  Identify potential issues and areas for improvement and work with engineering to develop improvement plans.

    §  Act as refrigeration resource for engineering at all Mission sites worldwide.

    §  Perform from simple to complex design installation, maintenance, fabrication, repair, and modifications of various systems by:

    o   applying advanced technical knowledge to the troubleshooting and diagnosis of refrigeration equipment problems.

    o   using current best practice, documentation, and appropriate test equipment anticipate, identify, and isolate unusual systems faults or malfunctions on production and support equipment.

    o   checking and repairing pumps, fans, pneumatics, controls, and valves.

    o   assist in developing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program.

    §  Troubleshoot and/or modify PLC systems, software, and controls.

    §  Review all phases of new equipment installation and upgrades.

    §  Diagnose malfunctioning systems, etc., to locate the root cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

    §  Give accurate and detailed report/documentation of problems found and repairs performed. Document work via drawings, procedures, etc.

    §  Identify critical spare parts to keep in stock. Obtain quotes and secure necessary supplies/parts as needed.

    §  Assist the Maintenance Department in developing Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP).

    §  Perform safety inspections on all equipment/electrical systems to ensure safe operating conditions. Immediately report any unsafe conditions found.

    §  Ensure all maintenance personnel follow all safety rules and processes and act as safety role models for the maintenance team and company.

    §  Provide advice, guidance, and training as necessary.

    §  Perform other duties as requested.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

    §  High School Diploma.

    §  Refrigeration Certification Refrigeration EPA Certification (Universal Preferred).

    §  Minimum of 5 years of work-related experience.

    §  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s).

    §  Electrical experience including high voltage, low voltage, and control wiring.

    §  Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints.

    §  Proven working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) NFPA 70E, and Arc flash “Shock Hazzard.”

    §  Able to interpret and apply federal, state, local and city codes.

    §  Proven experience with related systems such as energy management and emergency power distribution.

    §  Excellent and proven ability to build and maintain cross functional relationships in a team environment.

    §  Strong ability to be hands-on, work independently, and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.

    §  Excellent interpersonal skills required to foster cooperation, teamwork, and to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

    §  Proactive in identifying and/or being a part of teams focusing on continuous improvement and cost reduction.

    §  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

    §  Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and manufacturing safety procedures (e.g., lock out/tag out, reading MSDS, incident response procedures, etc.).

    §  Able to work extended hours and be flexible with working hours to accommodate business needs.

    §  Maintain a valid driver’s license.

    §  Willing to travel.

    §  Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.

    §  Technical trade school training of 2 years.

    §  Experience with advanced refrigeration controls systems that include VFD’s, dynamic set points for energy efficiency, etc.

    §  Able to lift 25 to 48 pounds to a minimum height of 36 inches.

    §  Operating heavy machinery.

    §  Lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping while standing and kneeling.

    Able to perform the essential function of the job with or without accommodation.
