Designs or modifies state-of-the-art database designs to solve complex database processing problems, while considering existing and future needs, capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Provides technical leadership and direction to database administration team members and associates.
Essential Functions
• Designs or modifies state-of-the-art database designs to solve complex database processing problems, while considering existing and future needs, capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
• Provides technical leadership and direction to database administration team members and associates.
• Ensures that databases meet required operational standards and performance levels (as measured by reliability, response time, query execution time, etc.).
• Prepares cost analyses and justification for difficult database systems.
• Acts as senior consultant for lower staff providing technical advice and consultation on database analysis and database design reviews and evaluates the capabilities of potential database design and implementation approaches as well as backup and recovery strategies.
• Activities include: denormalization, developing data archival schemes, sizing, creation of data definition language and database objects, referential integrity and security enforcement and application optimization.
• Participates in the administration, monitoring, tuning and support of databases in the production environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience required
• Eight (8) years of information technology experience required
• Five (5) years’ experience in the database administration area required

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $115,000.00 - $195,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
