Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     About the Role:  

    LS Power is seeking a director, project development who will have overall responsibility for successfully navigating the project development phase for complex utility scale projects. Responsibilities would include oversight and setting direction of internal and external resources and activities to ensure project success.  Project development activities include market analysis, project conceptualization, engineering, site evaluations/acquisition, public relations, environmental/regulatory permitting, infrastructure interfaces, and contract negotiations.

    • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, economics, business, or a related field
    • Have 10 to 15 years of engineering and/or project management experience preferably in developing utility scale infrastructure projects
    • Effectively managed multiple assignments under time constraints

    • Have excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
