Product Development Director plans and directs the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Being a Product Development Director conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Additionally, Product Development Director develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Development is part of an eight-member Development and Communications team. The Director of Development will work with the Vice President of Development and Communications to plan, implement, and coordinate effective strategies for fundraising and fund development for MEDA. The Director of Development directs the work of a 4 FTE Development Team and is responsible for managing the full range of fund development activities and development operations for the organization. Fundraising activities include research, grant writing, and relationship cultivation with public agencies, private foundations, and corporations; collaborative fundraising planning and implementation with MEDA’s local and national partners; and major donor cultivation. Additionally, the Development Team helps coordinate and implement MEDA’s key stakeholder and fundraising events, which include the annual gala with revenue-enhancement strategies.
