Project Manager - New Product Development

  • Shift 1 (United States of America) Position Summary: Milacron is looking for a Project Manager- New Product Development to join our team in Afton (Batavia). This is a hands-on, leadership development role with the responsibility to lead and facilitate cross functional teams to develop and deliver new product solutions through innovative application of technology that meet customer needs along with cost, quality, delivery, and safety targets. As part of the product development projects, the project manager will work with cross functional stakeholders to enable sales, service, and support of such products across global markets while addressing complex challenges through creative solutions. Work You’ll Do: Lead and facilitate cross functional team including sales, engineering, service, manufacturing, purchasing etc. to develop and deliver large scale product development projects utilizing new product development process while meeting the project deliverables and targets of cost, quality, and delivery. Work with cross functional global stakeholders to establish and maintain project plans and drive the culture of accountability, collaboration, and inclusion across the team to deliver against the plan while managing and mitigating project risks. The project manager will ensure all actions are completed in a timely manner while considering any dependencies. The project manager will ensure structured project execution utilizing new product development process, manage critical path, communicate progress, Leads Root Cause (RCA), and corrective action events and project risks. The project manager will have the responsibility to gain alignment and agreement for the associated risk mitigation plans and recovery plans with key stake holders and management review group. The project manager will own all project communication, including weekly project status meetings, and all stakeholder communications, effectively communicating to management project progress, risks, and mitigation plans. Team: This person will be a member the Manufacturing Engineering Organization and the Project Management Office (PMO) reporting to both the PMO Leader and the VP, Innovation & Technology. This team of project managers is responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget and in alignment with Milacron’s strategic goals. Basic Qualifications: Minimum 4 years of new product development and manufacturing experience, preferably in a manufactured-product development, engineer-to-order (ETO), configure-to-order (CTO), or machine design environment. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (preferred degree in STEM) Proven track record to deliver high quality projects on time. Must be comfortable: Leading through influence while driving accountability across project team to deliver Creating an inclusive, collaborative, customer focused environment Working with globally dispersed sites Working with business leaders and team members on project timelines and problem resolution Strong communication skills with experience providing stakeholder project updates and communicating clear objectives with a wide variety of personnel. Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications. Proficiency with project management tools and related technology Strong problem-solving skills with sound decision making based on structured data analysis. Working knowledge of MS Office, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and CAD software. Ability to use collaboration tools such as team-based document control, video conferencing, scheduling meetings, conference calls, etc. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in working in an ISO 9001 Product Development Process System is desired. Project Management experience and/or PMP Certification is desired.
