Volt is immediately hiring a Product Engineer to support a key client, located in Theodore, AL.

As the Product Engineer, you will serve as the technical manager for the hydrogen transport product line. This position is the primary sponsor for product lifecycle management efforts and will work with the Design Engineers to ensure these efforts are successful. The selected individual will support engineering initiatives for product lines to meet the financial, quality, training and sales goals set by the Product Manager. The Product Engineer serves as the technical point of contact for customers as well as the sales, engineering, marketing, and commercial teams. In addition, you will:

• Support sales and marketing efforts as an engineering resource to maximize sales/market share of products.
• Define Customer and Tech Service training requirements.
• Lead value engineering efforts through design engineering and CI teams.
• Aid in customer training.
• Support NPD efforts with engineering team.
• Manage warranty claims by providing engineering guidance.
• Lead product related CAPA efforts as appropriate.
• Assist Product Manager with RFQ's and new sales by providing technical assistance.
• Manage component and part selection and validation.
• Develop and execute test plans.
• Research and investigate code requirements.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience in hydrogen applications.
• 3-5 years of experience with cryogenic applications.
• 3 years of experience with design engineering.
• Experience with P&ID development.
• Experience with the development of equipment to engineering code standards.
• Proven ability to engage with customers in a professional and trustworthy manner.
• Proven ability to educate and explain product functionality, both the "how" and the "why".
• Experience working in a self-directed role and comfortable making decisions independently.
