This position requires travel in the continental United States for various projects. The candidate should be experienced performing the following tasks.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Will report directly to the Technical Services Manager.
- Will coordinate between engineering and shop supervisors/personnel.
- Will coordinate with the purchasing department, logistics and outside vendors for raw materials and vendor service calls.
- Will schedule shop workflow to meet project timelines.
- Will monitor work in progress and update work tasks through the work order system.
- Will be required to participate with Quality Control personnel in quality inspections for all the shop product types.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and symbols.
- Will work with Engineers and shop personnel on redline updates to drawings and ensure completeness.
- Will write technical subject reports and assist with the writing and editing of technical manuals.
- Will be required to use several Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook & Project.
- Will be required to work closely with the engineering staff to develop equipment integration methods and/or repairs.
- Assists Technical Service Manager with preparing cost estimates for proposed projects.
- Must be willing to travel in support of customer and company requirements.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance and will not be able to start work until a Secret clearance is granted.
- Will assist engineers with fabricating and assembling electronics subassemblies for prototype models from schematics, rough sketches, and verbal descriptions.
- Will provide surge capability to the Integration Support and Electronics Shop as needed.
- Will generate and track hot work permits for the fabrication services shop.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- An associate degree in engineering technology or equivalent Commercial or US military/Government technical training and experience.
- Fifteen years of work experience in the installation and integration of communications/electronics equipment and systems.
- Ten years’ experience with purchasing, expediting, quality control/continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing safety practices.
- Ten years of work experience related to direct customer service.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.
- The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and welding symbols on metal fabrication drawings.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
- The ability to perform compliance and quality inspections.
- The ability to research vendors for parts, materials, and services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Physical abilities include the use of arms, hands, and fingers to operate tools, computers, and various equipment. Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching, and handling, pushing, pulling and climb ladders.
- Able to focus on items less than 20 inches away (corrected or uncorrected), see in three dimensions and distinguish all colors.
- Experience working with documents and materials in a classified work environment.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a skilled trade or equivalent US military/government technical training.
- Twenty years of work experience in the installation and integration of communications/electronics equipment and systems.
- Fifteen years of work experience related to direct customer service.
- National Electrical Code certification.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
