Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsibilities- Coordinate with various internal departments, including sales, engineering, and production, to ensure seamless order processing and fulfillment.
- Manage the production schedule to optimize efficiency and meet customer delivery requirements.
- Communicate with suppliers to place orders for necessary raw materials, components and supplies.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively address any delays or issues that may impact production timelines.
- Work closely with the production team to prioritize orders, allocate resources and ensure on-time deliver.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of orders, production schedules and supplier interactions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in order entry and productions coordination.
- Manage RMA WO’s and coordinate with the shop and accounting.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Assist with ISO 9002:2015
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in order entry, productions coordination, or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent data entry skills to ensure accuracy in order processing.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with order management software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during order fulfillment.
- Knowledge of supply chain and production process is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
