Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks that support production control and ensure the efficient flow of materials required by production schedules. Monitors the inventory of parts, components, and raw materials and coordinates ordering, invoicing, and scheduling with vendors. Being a Production Control Clerk tracks status of customer orders and production schedules to identify issues or delays and coordinates with stakeholders to expedite orders and resolve problems. Inputs and maintains production data in ERP, MRP, or other databases. Additionally, Production Control Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Control Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     PRODUCTION CONTROL ANALYST
    Main Functions:
    • Works with the Unit Department (Central Maintenance Facility) Management to ensure rebuilt assemblies and sub-assemblies are produced to schedule are cost effective. Works with various Offices of Emergency Management and vendors in the development of new component kits.
    • Develops and manages a master schedule for all remanufactured products. Plans and schedules workflow in cooperation with Unit Department staff. Reviews and modifies schedule as required to ensure product manufactured is adequate to support bus maintenance service requirements.
    • Works closely with Unit Department management to ensure rebuilt subassemblies are produced to schedule and cost efficiently. Maintains bills of material for all remanufactured subassemblies. Oversees service writers to ensure all bills of material are accurate and updated in the ASI system. Establishes rebuilt kits for all components required for rebuilt assemblies to ensure that all assemblies are rebuilt identically.
    • Manages all aspects of three (3) stockrooms: Unit Department, Central Maintenance Facility, and non-revenue. Manages stock clerks and service writers to ensure the use of proper procedures, ensure all materials issued are charged to the proper accounts, and inventory levels are maintained properly to ensure maximum return on inventory investment.
    • Oversees the warranty recovery for all Unit Department built components under the direction of the Warranty Manager Bus.
    • Implements MRP production software that tracks rebuilt products and work orders more efficiently. Collects relevant information regarding the rebuilding process to improve parts forecasting and production planning.
    • Reviews individual rebuilt product cost analysis for labor and material in order to confirm pricing of rebuilt assemblies, as well as decisions to make or buy.
    • Prepares production reports including assemblies scheduled; released; in process and completed; as well as shortage reports and cost analysis for all remanufactured products in order to better plan inventory and stocking levels of finished rebuilt product.

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related area, or equivalent, and five (5) years of progressive responsible experience in materials management.
    • Experience with vehicle maintenance and knowledge of all mechanical aspects of buses required.
    • One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
    Knowledge and Skills:
    Essential:
    • Three (3) years of experience in a rebuilding environment and/or parts warehousing.
    • MRP or other manufacturing software preferred.
    • Computer skills including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    Preferred:
    • Able to create charts and graphs, sort large amounts of data and create presentations.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Familiar with contracts and contract language.
    • Working Knowledge of VMIS and Oracle
