Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Control Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The Director of Gas Production has responsibilities including but not limited to gas production management, asset management, cylinder maintenance; Air Separation Unit (ASU) operations; and cryogenic services. Problem solving includes technical expertise across medical, industrial, and specialty gases, including their distribution. Role involves comprehensive operational direction, complex root-cause analysis, and regulatory compliance. Impact includes potential for significant regulatory, operational, legal, reputational and safety implications. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Direct all fill plant activities, including but not limited to filling operations, cylinder and location maintenance, Air Separation Units and safety.Responsible for all processes and procedures related to gas operations.Responsible for optimizing cylinder asset utilization and management at fill plant locationsDirect and support all gas filling operationsDrive efficiency and safety improvement at all gas filling operationsOversee Air Separation Plant Operations. Ensure regulatory compliance, excellent maintenance procedures and a safe and efficient operationAssist in the evaluation, selection and approval of subcontractors and suppliers of key mechanical components of gas production facilitiesCollaborate with leadership to develop, plan, and implement strategic initiatives to support the overall operational excellence and financial success of the company.Assist Sales team, Branches locations, and other departments in resolving technical or procedural issues associated with gas productionDirect all training surrounding applicable FDA, OSHA, DOT, and/or other regulationsConduct performance evaluations, wage, and bonus reviews as requiredAssist in the development and implementation of training programs for Team Members to increase their awareness and understanding of their job responsibilities and safety.Assist with budget creation for departmental and operational expendituresCommunicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety rulesFollow safe work practices in performance of all duties and follow the company’s safety policies dailyPerform other tasks as assigned or neededQualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent, 4-year college degree with a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferredThree years minimum progressive experience in managementFive years’ minimum experience in industrial and medical gas filling and distributionExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent customer service skillsAbility to effectively supervise and manage personnelExcellent math skills including the ability to set up and perform basic algebra.
