Production Engineering Manager manages the planning and designing of methods to improve or enhance existing programs. Oversees the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining necessary resources. Being a Production Engineering Manager develops and recommends revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production requirements. Ensures projects are completed on time. Additionally, Production Engineering Manager acts as advisor to production engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Production Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Specific Job Duties:
·Participate in daily team meetings and offer ideas/suggestions that contribute to meeting the performance objectives.
·Lead and participate in team activities to maintain and continuously improve on performance goals.
·Coordinate the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and employees to meet departmental performance objectives.
·Manage and train team leaders and team members in developing team work skills and team oriented activities in a positive working environment.
·Track time sheets, attendance records and ensure that all performance reviews are completed in a timely manner.
·Coordinate staffing needs and ensure that all personnel issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
·Develop and implement ergonomic production layouts to optimize process flows and eliminate non-value added activities through the principles of synchronous manufacturing.
·Establish accurate data collection systems for management non-conformance product tracking, labor tracking and resource utilization reports.
·Ensure strict compliance to all TS-16949 procedures and monitor development and compliance of all work guidance on the floor.
·Participate in the advanced product quality planning activities for the development of control plans and work guidance.
·Identify accurate monitoring and data collection systems for critical processes, equipment and/or product parameters. Track capability for continuous improvement activities.
· Assess the abilities of personnel and resources, and allocate them to the areas of their greatest expertise and utilization.
·Maintain daily schedules and maintain weekly production requirements.
·Ensure information systems and production data procedures are being followed.
·Ensure that training needs are being met with all personnel and that training procedures are being followed.
·Liaison with other departments in meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
·Coordinate all production equipment to meet production schedules.
·Guide and participate in departmental continuous improvement activities.
·Ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
·Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business field of study. Twelve years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.
·Implementation knowledge of OSHA industry health and safety regulations.
·Operational knowledge of management information systems, use of personal computers and application software.

·Extensive manufacturing management experience in a high volume, dynamic environment.
