Production Engineering Manager manages the planning and designing of methods to improve or enhance existing programs. Oversees the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining necessary resources. Being a Production Engineering Manager develops and recommends revisions or enhancements to schedules, human and monetary resource allocations, and production requirements. Ensures projects are completed on time. Additionally, Production Engineering Manager acts as advisor to production engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Production Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Assignment will be a PEM for APKWS® Production to support the demand for this guidance kit, with production quantity demands up to 25,000 per year. APKWS laser guidance kit redefines precision munitions by hitting targets with pinpoint accuracy and minimal collateral damage – delivering critical lethality when it matters most. This position is deputy role to our APKWS Portfolio and Production PEMs, supporting keeping our high-volume production line moving. Activities include leading continuous improvement initiatives, supplier support, root cause investigations, and capital improvements. This role requires the candidate to be responsible for planning, technical strategy, engineering staffing, budget, schedules, scope management, risk and opportunity management, and team coordination.


    BAE Systems’ Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) for the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line. This role will be staffed in Hudson, NH.     Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provides leadership with APKWS Production and Portfolio PEMs to maintain continuous production and product updates.
    • Provides technical leadership of a project or projects within the programmatic guidelines set by the customer and program.
    • Interface with customers to brief status, progress, and path forward for projects.
    • Guides project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
    • Leads team in planning and execution aligned with company process. Provides the coordination between functional managers, Program Managers, and other PEMs.
    • Serves as the Engineering focal point for activity within program including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, integrated engineering plans on programs, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.
    • Drives continuous improvement of product team using methodologies to focus on cost reduction, increased productivity, revenue growth, or quality enhancement.
    • Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensures project safety per company practices, processes, and policy.
    Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.


    Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of professional experience
    • Able to obtain Secret clearance
    • Production or manufacturing experience.
    • Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Proven leadership managing projects/tasks and interfacing with customers
    • Results oriented and driven to closure/ decision making.
    • Skilled in analyzing and optimizing production processes


    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Experience leading programs in missile or munition technologies
    • Experience leading team to solve complex problems
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt


    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
