Production Manager manages operations of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Summary: This position is responsible to oversee the daily production operations of the plant to ensure that plant safety, quality, and production goals are met. Fosters a well-trained and motivated staff. Develops production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers. Oversees production staff, including hiring, training, and developing crew members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures • Review production schedules and coordinate work assignments with supervisors and crew chiefs • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping • Assist crew members with troubleshooting and resolving issues • Ensure that all housekeeping, safety, and quality policies and procedures are followed • Monitor and manage the perishables expenses for the crew • Facilitate team building between crews and shifts • Ensure that each crew has a sufficient number of crew members to meet production requirements • Select, mentor, coach, and train crew chiefs and supervisors to maximize crew satisfaction, efficiency, and effectiveness • Mentor, coach, and motivate crew members • Conduct performance review conferences, including disciplinary conferences, with crew members • Track movement of parts through area • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts • Model desired traits • Accept and adapt easily to change • Support all Company policies and procedures • Ensure that all activities are consistent with Company Mission Statement • Operate job-related equipment with or without an accommodation • Meet physical demands of job with or without an accommodation • Other duties as assigned Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and assigned task satisfactorily.
