PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
To ensure that the property is maintained in the finest condition at all times without inconvenience to our guests and colleagues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing paint, matching paint and using brushes, rollers and spray-guns.
· Repair, install, and remove wallpaper.
· Work with plaster, cement, and sheet rock.
· Properly prepare all surfaces for painting, wallpaper, paneling, and other coatings.
· Work with caulking, grout, epoxies, and adhesives.
· Finish surfaces of woodwork using stains, varnish, shellac, and other coatings.
· Perform furniture touch up and repair.
· Perform wall, floor, and ceiling repairs.
· Select and order supplies and other required materials. Maintaining adequate stock of materials and tools.
· Assistance in various preventative maintenance jobs.
· Know and practice the safe use of hand tools and small portable power tools.
· Use ladders and staging to a height of 24 feet comfortably and safely.
· Evaluate a situation, diagnose the problem and develop a plan to repair or correct the situation in a timely, professional and safe manor.
· Work independently without direct supervision.
· Keep all shop areas neat and workmanlike.
· Use the engineering shop computer to read, receive, and send internal e-mails.
· Appropriate assist and interact with guests whenever necessary.
· Additional duties not listed may also be requested by supervisor.
· Ability to read blueprints, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials.
· Work with other hotel department managers and staff to insure a positive guest experience.
Use maintenance software program to write and track work orders.
