Production Painter operates a spray painter or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Being a Production Painter completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. Additionally, Production Painter may paint items by hand as needed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. The Production Painter possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Description
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Prepping parts for paint, mixing paint, application of paint either through a manual spray system or configuration of the automated paint line, self-inspect work
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Prepare parts for paint as needed
Mix paint to match color
Application of paint to standard thickness and color match
Maintenance and cleaning of paint equipment and work area
Completes a daily production report and turn into the supervisor at the end of the shift.
Compliance with company policies and safety standards
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members and supervision
Performs all other duties as apparent or assigned.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience in a manufacturing/fabrication facility preferred.
Previous experience with wet coat paint preferred.
Ability to read and understand technical documents and quality standards
Ability to maintain and clean equipment.
Ability to detect defects, determine root cause, and resolve issues.
Ability to relate well with others and work as a team member.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Frequently required to use hands to handle objects.
Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to operate various types of forklift/pallet jack
Ability to stand for 10 hours a day
