    In this role, you will be heading a team in the Motion NEMA Motors, driving efficient and cost-effective production results to meet requirements, specifications and targets by coordinating and plant equipment, personnel and production processes. You will be responsible to ensure efficient and cost effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs and proper productivity level). Responsible for safe operations, operating within the quality specifications of the company, and meeting production standards and goals. Will oversee all areas of production, including managing production supervisors, working with scheduling to ensure on time delivery, working with quality and engineering to ensure product is meeting specifications, and working with safety to ensure that the production employees have a safe work environment. Ensure positive communications with production supervisors, and the hourly production employees. Create a fair and consistent employee relations environment and lead by example. Provide support and be proactive with cross training and compliance training for all employees.

    Your responsibilities

    • Ensure compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results
    • Assess risks and safety hazards and implement plans to ensure people and equipment safety. Create, operate and sustain a clean, safe working environment that meets world class standards
    • Ensure all products and services are defect free, on time, and meet customer requirements
    • Ensure (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR (Human Resource) policies. Help create a highly flexible and skilled workforce. Promote open communication and maintain effective working relationships
    • Help create and maintain a high morale, union free workplace. Involve employees by listening, communicating and follow up
    • Develop programs, projects, goals and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations
    • Collaborates with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes. Manage and coach supervisors. Evaluate standards of performance and uphold high standards and expectations
    • Develop and execute plans to reduce non value added costs, increase revenues and delight customers by delivering products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates. Ensure that continuous improvement methodology and training are implemented into the organization.
    • Prepare annual production budget, oversee progress and determine actions to cost issues as necessary in order to manage operations within the budget and resources
    • Provide support to Sales during customer visits to explain capabilities of the manufacturing facilities
    Your background

    • Master's Degree with minimum 8 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum 10 years experience OR Associate's with minimum 12 years experience.
    • Minimum 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Record of creative root cause analysis for solving manufacturing concerns.
    • Lean certification(s) and understanding of lean concepts -Preferred
    • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office)
    • Understanding of quality management systems and ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
