Professor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. We are seeking a customer service oriented team player to join our Accounting Department as an Accounting Assistant.At McConnell’s, our mission is to excel in all phases of convenience store and foodservice distribution, partner with our customers and vendors to ensure our mutual success, and be respected for our people, products, and performance.
Essential Duties:
- Assess credit risk and viability of potential and existing customers and establishes credit limits
- Consistently monitor accounts for on-time payment and compliance with credit limits
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers
- Accurately post and allocate checks, cash and ACH payments
- Resolve unpaid balances
- Reconcile receipts to general ledger
- Administrative Assistant
Experience and Skills:- 1 year accounting experience or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting practices with knowledge of accounts receivable practices helpful
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within an organization
