  • The School of Engineering at Colorado State University Pueblo offers five undergraduate programs (in civil, industrial, and mechatronics engineering, civil engineering technology, and construction management) and two graduate programs in engineering at the master’s level.     The School of Engineering provides engineering courses to support, among other programs, the BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE), the BS in Engineering (BSE) with specialization in mechatronics, BS in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering (MSISE), MS in Mechatronics Engineering (MSME), a minor in Engineering, a minor in Industrial Engineering, and a pre-Engineering program for students who plan to transfer elsewhere for other engineering majors. The department performs research in engineering and provides service to the college, university, the southern Colorado region, and the world. Engineering labs include an Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Center, metals lab, machine shop, measurement lab, mechatronics lab with computer workstations using NI ELVIS equipment and LabVIEW, nanotechnology lab, virtual reality lab, 3D printing lab, and a robotics lab. Faculty members are involved in research on energy planning, manufacturing issues in nanotechnology, 3D printing technologies, biomedical devices, logistics, mathematical models for decision making, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and engineering education.This full-time, tenured/tenure-track, nine-month position provides teaching and developing courses for two Bachelor of Science degree programs and two Master of Science degree programs, scholarship, advising, service, and direction in all areas of engineering. This position focuses especially on electrical engineering.

    Position will begin in August, 2024.

    Primary Duties
    Teaching
    Teaches baccalaureate and master’s level courses in the engineering program in accordance with program needs. These duties include preparing and presenting course materials; administering appropriate tests; evaluating student outcomes; selecting and ordering texts; preparing, administering, and grading assignments; and assigning final grades. Duties also include proposing curriculum changes and program modifications to the Director of the School of Engineering.

    Scholarship
    Engages in scholarly activity including grant writing, preparation, and submission; scholarly work appropriate to the discipline while including undergraduate and graduate students in research when possible and appropriate; and dissemination at appropriate national, region, and local venues.

    Service
    Engages in service to the department, college, university, the southern Colorado region, and the engineering profession (including national organizations).

    Salary Range
    $72,800-$82,000 per nine-month academic year.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Ph.D. in an engineering discipline or a closely related field by position start date
    • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering
    • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in mechatronics
    • Master’s degree in engineering, math or physical science
    • Have or be able to obtain a PE license
    • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: circuit analysis, analog and digital electronics, computer and software engineering, embedded systems.
    • An ability to teach a range of courses
    • A record of teaching experience, applied research and support, and relevant industrial experience
