Professor - Chemistry teaches courses in the discipline area of chemistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Chemistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Chemistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Division of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Woman's University located in Denton, Texas is seeking candidates for a tenure track Assistant Professor to:

    1. teach undergraduate and graduate chemistry and science courses;
    2. establish a nationally recognized research program;
    3. mentor and guide undergraduate and Master's students in innovative research projects within our new state-of-the-art research facility; and
    4. collaborate effectively within the division, college, and university, and
    5. contribute to the division, college, and university through service.

    Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry, post-Doctoral experience is preferred but not required. Preference will be given to individuals with research interests in biochemistry and related areas.
