Overview
Mount Marty University is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty appointment in Exercise Science to support its mission in teaching, mentoring students, and contribution to scholarly research. The appointment will begin in August 2025 and will be at the instructor or Assistant Professor rank, depending on qualifications. This position could be a two-year contract with potential for renewal, or a tenure-track line, based on the candidate’s qualifications.
The mission of the Exercise Science Program is to develop competent and contributing entry-level professionals as well as prepare students for graduate-level coursework in Physical Therapy. MMU prepares Exercise Science graduate to apply knowledge/skills to health assessments and wellness programming so as to assist others in developing healthy, active lifestyles, reducing chronic disease, and enhancing athletic performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the ability to effectively teach and advise undergraduate students, engage in interdisciplinary scholarly research with undergraduate students, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills needed for grant writing, teaching, and scholarship. The ideal candidate will also have a desire to be physically present when working in our mission-driven Catholic, Benedictine, and Liberal Arts environment.
An earned MS or PhD degree in Exercise Science or closely related discipline from an accredited institution and certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and/or National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), including: ACSM-CET, ACSM-CEP, CSCS, CSPS, or TSAC-F are required.
