Professor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Assistant Research Professor, Civil and Arch Engineering and Mechanics

    • Manage sponsored research projects by serving as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI on research projects.
    • Conduct research, perform experiments, analyze data with graduate and undergraduate students.

    • Outreach activities, including but not limited to presenting the research outcomes at local and national conferences.
    • Prepare, coordinate, and submit grant proposals/scope of work to acquire research funding

    • Manage CATS IT team to develop and maintain center IT infrastructure.
    • Support CATS Center manager/directors to coordinate meetings, seminars, and workshops.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

    Advanced database and computer programming skills, including database management and coding in multiple computer languages, e.g. R and C#.
