Professor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama and theater arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     What You Will Do:

    • Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with State Standards and PLA Instructional Guidelines
    • Assess students regularly and personalize classroom instruction based on assessment data and each scholar's needs
    • Communicate regularly with students and families and involve families as partners in their child’s education
    • Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practices throughout the school
    • Ensure scholar classroom retention of 80% during an academic school year

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in the Arts field -Preferred
    • Credential required OR Enrolled in an accredited teacher licensing program  
    • Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
    • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
    • Strength in using data to drive instruction
    • Willingness to align your mission with the vision of PLA’s Core Values.
