      SUMMARY:
      We are seeking a full-time Social Studies and Economics teacher to join our team at Dexter High School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching students and will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Must be able to articulate the school and district goals regarding social studies, economics, and secondary educational program to staff, students and parents
      • Plan, organize and administer social studies instruction in compliance with guidelines determined by administration, state and federal guidelines
      • Incorporate language, writing and critical thinking skills utilizing the course of study adopted by the district
      • Develop clear and appropriate lesson plans
      • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
      • Evaluate academic growth and record appropriate data to provide accurate and constructive feedback to students and parents as necessary
      • Cooperate with other staff members to identify student needs
      • Maintain professional competence through district provided professional development
      • Follows Board Policies and building procedures

      REQUIREMENTS:
      • Must be Secondary Certified with an endorsement in both Social Studies and Economics
      • Must hold a valid Teaching Certificate
      • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff
