Job Description
The University of Northern Iowa’s Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing position, starting in August 2025. We are looking for candidates from a broad range of areas, and the successful candidate may be responsible for teaching courses in these specialized areas (based on interest) in addition to Marketing Principles: Marketing Analytics or Services Marketing or in our Sales Program. The department is open to candidates with a variety of research agendas, areas of specialization, and methodological approaches. We are particularly interested in candidates who have research and teaching interests in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help solve marketing problems. Especially welcome are candidates who can bridge the gap between theory and practice, bring global perspectives to their teaching and research and convey the importance of marketing in the ever-changing business environment. Candidates seeking a balance in teaching and research responsibilities will find a collegial work environment. In-person, on-campus teaching and regular office hours are required. Depending on demand and expertise, teaching responsibilities may also include a limited number of online courses. In their normal course of duties, faculty will need to exhibit course design, curriculum development, and grading student work.
The Wilson College of Business (business.uni.edu) is AACSB-accredited and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in five departments (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing & Entrepreneurship) along with MBA and MAcc degrees. The Wilson College has 50 full-time faculty and 53 staff and enrolls approximately 1,500 undergraduate majors and 100 graduate students. The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship consists of 8 full-time faculty members and around 275 students. The department has a history of teaching excellence evidenced by the active engagement of our students. The department is known for its collegial and supportive environment in both scholarship and teaching, with opportunities for department seminars and collaboration. Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Marketing from an AACSB-accredited doctoral program required. Marketing ABDs are welcome to apply with an expected degree completion date by August 1, 2025. A record of excellence in teaching; background in marketing management, service marketing, or price modeling; demonstrated ability to produce publishable research in marketing journals; and demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills also required.
Preferred Qualifications
A commitment to excellence, and an openness to engage with the latest tools used in the field of marketing, including data analytics and artificial intelligence preferred.
