Being a Professor - Law provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Law typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. We are seeking a motivated law clerk to join our firm for the summer (May-August 2023). You will have the opportunity to learn about employment law and have hands-on experience, including attending hearings, depositions, and direct communications with clients. The position is generally remote; however, we will meet a couple of times throughout the month to discuss case strategy.

    Job duties include:

    • Assisting the managing attorney with trial prep
    • Legal writing and research
    • Drafting correspondence
    • Responding to and propounding discovery
    • Drafting notices and objections
    • Interacting with clients

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Rising 3L
    • Employment Law experience
    • Strong legal research and analysis
    • General knowledge of California Civil Procedure
    • Experience drafting and responding to discovery
    • Legal writing experience
    • Spanish speaking abilities

    Required qualifications:

    • Law School Student and/or Recent Law School Graduate
    • Well organized and detail-oriented
    • High emotional intelligence and a positive attitude
    • Reliable and punctual
