Professor - Legal Support teaches courses in the discipline area of legal services. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Our office has an opening for paralegals / legal document assistants to work at our office. This is full time position that offers competitive pay and benefits (medical/dental/vision/401K/paid time off/paid holidays).
Background as a paralegal (or legal document assistant) and experience in family law, wills, living trusts, or probate is desirable but not required. The position can be filled at entry, intermediate or advanced level. However, all applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of experience.
Desired qualifications:
- Education in Paralegal Studies - certificate in paralegal studies or higher is required
- Notary Public is desirable but not required
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Very Reliable and Trainable
- Serious and Responsible
- Good communication skills
- Experience in any of the areas of family law, wills, living trusts, and/or probate is desirable but not required
- Current notary public or willing to become a notary public
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is desirable.
