    Job Description Summary:
    Serve as director for centralized Graduate Medical Education Core Curriculum, review/enhance individual program curricula, develop competency assessment methodologies in collaboration with individual programs and the affiliated clinical facilities, and participate in accreditation oversight processes. In accordance with Kansas Board of Regents and University policy, this position "serves at the pleasure" of the Chancellor or the individual to whom the position directly reports.

    Job Description:
    ** Required Qualifications **

    Advanced degree in education, public administration, business administration, health services administration or a related field. Expertise in the use of personal computers and commonly used programs-WordPerfect, GroupWise, Access, Excel and Power Point. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, hospital administrators, faculty, residents, staff and representatives of other organizations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and work independently. Ability to provide executive briefings to upper management with appropriate analysis. Ability to write detail/complex proposals and provide upper management with appropriate details.

    ** Preferred Qualifications **

    Five years experience in an academic setting, business or graduate medical education (GME). Prior experience with institutional accreditation policies/procedures at the collegiate or graduate level.

    Job Description:
    GME core curriculum development/enhancement focusing on what elements should be centralized. Assist program directors in curriculum development/enhancement in areas specific to each program. Analysis and evaluation of individual GME program outcomes and including the impact of these programs on local, state and regional physician workforce. Develop and implement standardized competency assessment methodologies for individual programs. This should include incorporation of developed metrics from other disciplines including psychometrics and computer simulation. Performance of other duties assigned by the Associate Dean for GME or his/her superiors that contribute to the efficient functioning of the School of Medicine.

    Organize and facilitate annual resident research forum and develop new mechanisms to enhance individual program scholarly activity.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Oversight of the GME accreditation process at both the institutional and individual program level, including managing communication between the university and the ACGME and its individual RRC's.

    In cooperation with KUH, oversee GME compliance with Joint Commission requirements, especially as related to the hospital staff's ability to identify the procedural competency of residents.
