Professor - Medical Ethics teaches courses in the discipline area of medical ethics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Medical Ethics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Medical Ethics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Position Description:

    This position works with the Cardiology healthcare team to provide direct patient care and instruct medical students and residents in the discipline of Cardiovascular Medicine.  It also participates in conferences as well as conducts and develops research grants and proposals.

    Qualifications:

    Education/experience/licensing:
    MD or equivalent required; successful completion of internal medicine; board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine; current licensure in the State of Ohio required, prior to beginning the position.

    Communication and other skills:
    Ability to successfully teach and mentor medical students, residents and fellows.
    Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues.
    Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
    Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

    Working Conditions:

    This position works in a professional clinical and academic office setting.
