General Summary:
The Assistant/Associate/Professor of Dentistry, Director of Behavioral Sciences and Scholarly Activity will be responsible for the predoctoral behavioral sciences curriculum, including course directorship, student clinical assessment and competency evaluation. The position will also take the lead role in developing the research and scholarly activity program at the school, to include delivery of the student research course, provide guidance to students during research performance, and serve as a resource for faculty scholarly activity.
Essential Job Functions:
• Understands accreditation standards and expectations and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards.
• Provides classroom and clinical instruction in behavioral sciences.
• Oversees the behavioral sciences curriculum within the pre-doctoral program.
• In conjunction with the Dean, provides oversight to the research and scholarly endeavors at the school.
• Performs scholarly activity.
• Provides university and school service as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental and University need.
Requirements
Education:
• Required: PhD in Behavioral Sciences or related area
Experience:
• Required: 1-6 years of teaching experience at a dental school
• Required: Developing, managing, and conducting research studies
• Required: Research experience
• Required: Academic/clinical teaching experience
