Professor - Psychology teaches courses in the discipline area of psychology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Psychology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Psychology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Master's degree in Psychology; OR

    Master's degree in any field with at least 18 GCH in a combination of the qualifying fields of:
    • Psychology (all)
    • Counseling
    • Behavioral Studies
    • Human Development
    • Psychiatry
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community.
    • Demonstrated experience with current pedagogical and instructional methods.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to teach introduction to psychology and lifespan development courses.
    • Experience with asynchronous online, synchronous virtual, and/or hybrid teaching in psychology.


    Work Hours
    Not a remote work position. MCC-Online offices are located at MCC-Penn Valley.
    Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; may be required to work different assignments to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs.
    Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Special Instructions to Applicants

    -This is not a remote work position. MCC-Online offices are located at MCC-Penn Valley.
    -This position is contingent on budget-appropriated funding. Position available Fall 2024 unless otherwise approved.

    Official or student copies of your transcripts are required at the time of application. Official transcripts are required if selected for interview.
