Professor - Social Work teaches courses in the discipline area of social work. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Social Work provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Our organization is looking for a full time Social Worker at Miller County Hospital.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The duties and responsibilities of the Social Services Worker include providing a medically-related social service program to meet the needs of patients and residents, determining the type of assistance required, assisting in obtaining benefits from agencies and organizations such as Medicaid, Social Security, Veterans benefits and others, completing the necessary forms and involving families whenever possible and advisable, etc. Utilizing community resources and preparing for discharge, in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and the current established policies and procedures of the facility. Will work closely with ACO team and Hospital’s interdisciplinary team caring for inpatients or swing-bed patients.
Qualifications:
- Social Worker degree preferred- 4 year or Masters level
- One year working in a nursing home, hospital, health care facility or other social service industry preferred.
- Strong background and knowledge in Medicaid preferred
