Professor - Sociology teaches courses in the discipline area of sociology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Sociology Adjunct

  • The Tri-County Technical College Arts and Sciences Division is seeking collaborative, energetic, and innovative Sociology Adjunct Instructors. Successful candidates will teach Introductory Sociology, Marriage and Family and/or Social Problem courses using systematically planned and delivered instruction for the program; maintain records of student academic progress and attendance, evaluate level of achievement, and assign grades for the program. Classes are offered during the day, evening, and at various Tri-County Technical College community campuses within Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties.  
     
    The Sociology Adjunct Instructor role is a part-time, non- benefited employment role. Adjunct Instructors are hired on a per semester basis. Successful candidates will be required to teach face-to-face instruction at one of our four community campuses (Anderson, Easley, Pendleton, or Oconee). The Fall 2024 Semester begins on August 10th.   Minimum requirements include a master's degree in Sociology or master's degree in any area and 18 graduate semester hours in Sociology.  Preference will be given to applicants with higher education teaching experience. About Us
