Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     The Department of Mathematics at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, two-year term  appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor starting in August 2024, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with broad training in Mathematics, with expertise in undergraduate Mathematics teaching, with preference given to those with expertise in statistics and prior teaching experience. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in Mathematics or closely related discipline. 

    Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, advising students of all levels and backgrounds through the transition to college, active engagement in scholarly and/or creative activities, and working closely with students in a small college environment.
