Being a Program Director - Social Service oversees all activities regarding service delivery, quality improvement, and financial administration. The Program Director - Social Service manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Program Director - Social Service typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The Program Director will live onsite at camp, work with children, and supervise staff at an all girls' YMCA overnight camp.The Program Director is responsible for the following: Assisting in supervision of the activity heads and evaluation of all program area heads (Recreation, Waterfront, Hobbies, Farm) Scheduling showers, hobbies, and evening programs. Planning and implementing evening activities. Preparing a list of supplies necessary for general activity functions. Assisting with all program related activities of staff week. This responsibility requires enthusiasm, humor, patience, energy, maturity, focus and creativity on a continual basis in order to be an effective leader. A minimum of high school diploma with at least 3 years of resident camp experience or related college credits is preferred. Applicants must have the ability to build positive relationships with youth ages 8-15 years old and staff members. This position is at a girls’ overnight camp. The Program Director is expected to live onsite for 10 weeks beginning June 11, 2024 until August 17, 2024. Pay range $575-$650 per week depending on experience. Room and board are included. Staff will gain lifelong skills that will be transferable to many future job and career choices.
