Utilizes a client relationship management (CRM) or another system to organize information and facilitate outreach communications. Works with partners on special events that publicize the organization and its programs to the community. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Program Specialist (Non-Profit) work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Program Assistant - Non-Permanent, Hourly

  • Starting salary for this position is: $18.07 (Hourly).

    Employees starting at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter. If an employee starting at anything higher than the entry step of the range, will have salary step advancement after 12 months and salary step advancement every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range. Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase in salary.

    SCC is one of two accredited community colleges that comprise the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS).     The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of  Program Assistant in the Spokane Community College Presidents Office Division. 

    JOB SUMMARY

    Under the general supervision of the Centralized Scheduling Manager, this position performs a variety of projects and assignments such as preparing reports, preparing, reviewing, verifying and processing space utilization data, and composing reports, studies, surveys and forecasts.

    This is a non-permanent, hourly position. 15 to 20 hours a week. 

    CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepares and assists others in the preparation, compilation, and coordination of reports and records relating to the utilization, management and/or inventories of campus spaces and equipment/features within those spaces. *
    • Use 25Live, ctcLink, and other CCS systems to perform routine space utilization data compilation. *
      • Perform space audits to ensure data in 25Live is accurate.
      • Evaluate data, graphs, tables and charts. 
      • Create database queries to extract data. 
      • Review data for accuracy and completeness.  
      • Manipulate and analyze data to create statistical reports. 
      • Design report format and prepare narrative reports to accompany data. 
    • Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions. *
    • Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements. *
    • Support and advance the CCS strategic plan, and perform other duties as assigned. *

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of basic administrative procedures and/or office practices.

    • Experience using computers and spreadsheets, database and word processing software.
    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details and meeting strict deadlines.

    • Ability to project a professional image of the department.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Clerical experience in a Higher Education setting.
    • Associate degree in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related field.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Work is performed in a semi-open office setting with frequent interruptions and background noise.
    • Work is sedentary.
    • Frequent use of computers.
    • Move up to 25 lbs. occasionally.

    • Non-permanent, hourly position. 
    • Work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
    • This position is overtime eligible.
