About the position

We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our project management and accounting departments. This position will be located on an active jobsite and will require excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Day in the life

• Provide daily administrative support to the project management, payroll and accounting teams
• Manage project-related paperwork including invoices, contracts and change orders
• Assist with the preparation of project budgets, forecasts and financial reports
• Prepare and submit project-related invoices to customers and follow up on collections
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate billing and payments
• Reconcile project-related records and assist with project closeout procedures
• Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, filing and data entry

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in a project accounting or bookkeeping role, with experience working in a deadline-driven environment, preferably in the construction industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software
• Initiative, prioritization, and customer service skills.
• Independent problem-solving skills and high detail orientation.
• Demonstrated high level of integrity, judgement and dependability.
• Listening, verbal and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation. Strong telephone communication skills.
• Ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities. Effective time management skills.
