JOB TITLE: Project Engineer
DUTIES:
Under direct supervision of Project Director of large licensed general contractor, manage site development projects. Write and track RFI’s and process or assist in change orders. Prepare and maintain construction drawings, maps, blueprints, aerial photography, maps, survey reports, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical and/or geological data to plan projects. Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with subcontract and schedule administration. Keep up to date on construction drawings and as-builts. Prepare and manage procurement tracking logs to correlate with the project schedule and demands of the project. Keep up to date on project changes, RFI submissions and responses, and work progress, especially those items that could cause a delay or cause a loss if installed incorrectly. Maintain and provide up to date electronic and hard copy of drawings and specifications to subcontractors. Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control to verify that all materials installed coincide with approved submittals. Evaluate and estimate construction costs, governmental regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors necessary to the planning stage of construction projects to ensure that there are no unforeseen issues when project commences. Provide specific cost estimates for materials, equipment, and labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility and provide technical advice regarding design, construction, and structural repairs to determine project feasibility. Inspect project sites to monitor team’s progress and ensure projects proceed in conformance to design specifications and safety sanitation standards. Obtain all necessary construction permits for assigned projects, including dewatering, drainage, water and sewer, and other underground utilities, maintenance of traffic, right of way utilization, and fire line permits. Ensure project site and construction activities are constantly documented with writing and photos. Monitor OSHA safety standards to maintain safe environment for all employees and visitors, monitoring waste and maintaining sustainable site. REQUIRES: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field and 1 year of experience as Project Engineer, Cost Estimator, Construction Advisor, or any related occupation working with large construction or engineering projects.
