Project Engineering Manager plans and directs all design engineers, drafters, and technical engineers working on specific projects. Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. Being a Project Engineering Manager oversees product construction and testing in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Additionally, Project Engineering Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Project Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. - Analyze engineering data.
- Supervisor technicians and contractors.
- Perform highway construction surveying and layout.
What You Bring- Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans.
- Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.
- Customer service experience solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups.
- Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems.
- Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
- Ability to complete daily dairies, sample cards, asphalt report, NPDES reports, material received forms, survey notes, and monthly estimates.
- Strength and agility to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and traverse rough terrain.
- Safety toe shoes.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Education & Experience- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline, and
- 3 years of technician experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Notes- You may be exposed to high traffic volumes, work at heights over water or traffic, and encounter extreme temperatures.
- Work may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
