Project Estimator jobs in Delaware

General Summary: To perform various tasks associated with preparation of estimates and aiding in project management utilizing time management 

Essential Job Functions:

• Receive and direct customer phone calls to the proper department in a helpful and courteous manner
• Efficiently operate computer including databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft programs 
• Perform basic mathematical calculations multiplication, division, percentages, conversion if fractions to decimals etc.)
• Prepare estimate packages based on customer specifications and Potts requirements including costs of goods and services
• Monitor active jobs and their finances
• Accurately and promptly maintain all job-related correspondence
• Coordinate information as a liaison between customer and Potts
• Confer with personnel to coordinate business operations
• Consult with engineers, architects, owners, contractors etc. on changes and adjustments to cost estimates 
• Perform and reasonable task or assignment as specified by management including varied shift/ overtime and travel as necessary 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Good communication skills- able to actively listen to customers/ peers and convey information effectively in return 
• Ability to sit and work on computer/ phone system for long periods of time (minimum 4 hours)
• Skilled in utilizing databases to create, process, manage and store large amounts of information
• Adept in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) to enter, manipulate and format data, charts and graphs
• Capable of reading and understanding drawings and blue prints
• Using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems presented 
• Ability to perform math calculations
• Capable of wearing ANSI approved safety shoes, safety glasses and other approved personal protective equipment
• Able to work in confined spaces (ex. Vessel entry etc.)

Education, Experiences and Licenses:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Two-year technical college degree or 5 years’ experience in a related field
