Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Project Management Department Head Role:

    Reporting directly to the CEO, PMDH holds pivotal management responsibility for overseeing their elected projects from inception to completion and managing a team of 2 experienced project managers and one administrative/ clerical staff.

    This position will have two distinct parts, project management and leadership of the department team. As the primary liaison between our company and clients, exceptional interpersonal skills and a dedication to superior customer service are essential. And from a leadership standpoint being comfortable leading a team and a willingness to participate in and apply leadership/ personal development training provided by the company will help insure success.

    Project Management:

    1. Project Oversight: Lead projects from initiation to delivery or installation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and scope.

    2. Departmental Coordination: Coordinate production activities across all departments, including design, manufacturing, and installation, to ensure seamless project execution.

    3. Client Engagement: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and addressing concerns promptly and effectively.

    4. Problem Solving: Utilize machining expertise and proven problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions for clients.

    5. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate project documentation, manage resources efficiently, and uphold organizational standards.

    6. Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge.

    7. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in SolidWorks or similar drafting software, with a strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on manufacturing experience.

    Department Leadership:

    1. Team Leadership: Manage and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

    2. Management Experience: Demonstrated leadership skills with at least 3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within a machining or related industry.

    4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.

    5. Organizational Abilities: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

    6. Integrity: Commitment to honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct in all aspects of the role.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    - Experience in machining operations.

    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

    - High school diploma or GED

    - Technical training from a trade school or equivalent professional experience.

    - Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

    - Leadership Experience.
