Project Management Director develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals. Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery. Being a Project Management Director establishes methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Project Management Director monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a project management certification. Typically reports to top management. The Project Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Project Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. This Nurse Director Quality and Risk position involves spearheading the development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of activities associated with Quality and Risk Management programs, promoting employee health and safety, and fostering an environment of patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities for Risk and Quality :

    • Quality and Risk Management: Develop, coordinate, and implement Quality and Risk Management plans to enhance the overall quality of patient care and mitigate potential risks. Monitor and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Employee Health and Safety: Develop and implement programs to promote employee health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to the maintenance of employee health records.
    • Patient-Centered Care: Foster an environment of patient-centered care by adhering to evidence-based standards and practices.
    • Budget Management: Formulate and manage departmental budgets, maintaining efficient and effective operations while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, laws, standards, and protocols.
    • Complaint Resolution: Oversee the concern and complaint process regarding clinical care, addressing and resolving issues promptly.
    • Survey Readiness: Ensure the hospital's readiness for state and federal surveys, proactively identifying and addressing areas of improvement to maintain compliance.
    • Departmental Oversight: Manage and oversee departments related to Quality, Risk Management, Employee Health, and other areas as assigned.
    • Personnel Competency: Assure the competency of personnel in assigned departments through education, skills development, and compliance monitoring.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with various hospital departments, including Nursing, Rehabilitation Services, Radiology/Imaging, Respiratory Services, Laboratory, Revenue Cycle, Rural/Specialty Clinics, and Emergency Preparedness/Safety teams to ensure appropriate patient care, quality metrics, and services.
    • Performance Improvement: Drive the Performance Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program, implementing strategies to enhance healthcare quality.
