Project Manager - Construction directs day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Manages governance of projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle. Being a Project Manager - Construction uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets. Monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Additionally, Project Manager - Construction manages strategic client and contractor relationships and establishes clear lines of communication. Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions. Analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Project Manager - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department.     Job Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for supervising construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Project Manager or Assistant to join our growing team. In this position, you will oversee financial budgets, coordinate contractors, and manage the construction process. You will also oversee organizing schedules, tracking inventory, and ordering and managing materials.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Communicates with clients, subcontractors, designers and employees in an effective manner;
    • Consults, collaborates and advises clients;
    • Verifies materials, quantify material selections and orders materials when needed;
    • Reviews subcontractor proposals including verifying scope, completion and quality;
    • Creates completion schedules and coordinates subcontractors;
    • Organizes, verifies, and completes inspection checklists that include inspection reports, roofing and insulation certificates, truss calculations, welding reports, structural observations, energy calculations and other relevant inspections for the job;
    • Assists with creating daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedules for projects. Communicates effectively with all parties in relationship to this schedule. Prepares information for biweekly communications from Field Superintendent;
    • Schedules and coordinates county inspections;
    • Create final punch-lists and verify completion of items;
    • Responds to all emails in a professional and respectful manner;
    • The general knowledge of building practices to assure all work is being done in quality fashion. Quality of workmanship is a priority to ensure our custom home clientele. Also the ability to understand building codes and ensure all inspections are handled professionally.

    Education and Experience:

    • High School Diploma or GED required. Courses in construction management desired;
    • 1-2 years’ experience in construction and project management are preferred;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Spreadsheets, Sage Contractor 100, P-Vault Paperless Billing and general computer skill sets are a must;
    • A valid driver license;
    • Organization skills to implement schedules;
    • Problem solving items on and off site; and
    • The ability to think independently and be a leader for the success of each project and the company.
