Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a
Junior Project Controls Planner/Scheduler opportunity to support our customer at the
WIPP Facility outside of
Carlsbad, NM.
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs data analysis, identifies problems, and assists with recommendations.
- Analyzes schedule data and identifies and acquires the information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines or specialties.
- Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and work breakdown structures and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions.
- Ensures Earned Value Management System schedule data compliance.
- Obtains required schedule information by all disciplines/functions.
- Identifies restraints and effect on total project schedule.
- Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs.
- Assists in Identifying schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces.
- Assists in monitoring and reporting critical path and schedule performance of the total project. Conducts project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities. Recommends alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- 1 – 4 years of cross-functional experience in project controls in finance, accounting or related technical discipline.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to the work site.
- Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check.
- All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficiency in using software applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent proposal and project requests and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying and analyzing issues and recommending corrective actions.
Desired Requirements:
- Previous Earned Value Management System data compliance experience on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) job.
- Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling software application.
