Participates in the negotiation of contracts and prepares reports and analysis of contract details and statistics. Being a Provider Network Specialist distributes contract information, status updates, and other information within the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Provider Network Specialist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.   • Description:

    This Network Specialist position works in the Network and Telecommunication Services department. This position is part of the group that is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and administration of equipment that comprises the Network (including voice, data, wireless and video). As a Network Specialist this person will be responsible for Tier 2 support of the Network. This position will also be involved in the staging and deployment of any new or replacement equipment to be installed on the Network.

    Skills:

    Monitoring, troubleshooting, problem resolution, Documentation LAN & WAN, packet capture, OSPF, security, application support, Server administration, cisco voice, MPLS, BGP, cisco wireless, SDN

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    • Experience supporting a Cisco Voice over IP environment
    • Experience with BGP an MPLS in a service provider environment
    • Experience supporting a Cisco Wireless environment
    • Experience with SDN
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time accordingly
