    We are currently looking for a full-time Assistant Provost for Accreditation. The Assistant Provost for Accreditation serves as the University’s accreditation officer and provides leadership, organization and evaluation to academic and support units throughout the University. This position provides oversight and ensures consistency and compliance with SACSCOC and programmatic accreditation needs throughout Sullivan University. The position serves at the liaison for Sullivan University with external accrediting agencies and organizations.

    Responsibilities of the position include:

    • Maintains current knowledge of the University’s accreditor’s (SACSCOC) Principles of Accreditation, policies, guidelines and other expectation; general knowledge of specialized program accreditation requirements; and familiarity with state and federal requirements related to accreditation.
    • Promotes and ensures ongoing compliance with the SACSCOC Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards, and Federal Requirements.
    • Works with other offices to ensure that compliance with accreditation requirements is incorporated into the planning, assessment, and evaluation processes of the University.
    • Provides consultation to appropriate administrators regarding regional accreditation.
    • Develops and facilitates professional development training in areas related to accreditation (e.g., requirements, standards, policies and procedures) for faculty and staff.
    • Assists with the development and implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (five-year plan) in accordance with accreditation standards.
    • Leads the Universities comprehensive regional reaffirmation efforts and helps prepare for off-site and on-site accreditation visits.
    • Oversees the management of the University’s Substantive Change procedures and develops mechanisms for the reporting of Substantive Change.
    • Coordinates, contributes, and reviews all programmatic and institutional accreditation type activities (e.g., annual reports, fifth-year reports, self-studies, visit preparation and responses).
    • Assist deans/PDs with project management and writing process required for new and existing accreditation reports.
    • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents for compliance with accreditation standards to identify areas for improvement.
    • Monitors and analyzes outcomes to ensure goals, objectives, accreditation and regulatory requirements are met.
    • Works with Senior Director for Compliance and Licensing to ensure ongoing compliance with Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (KCPE) and other licensing renewal requirements.
    • Provides updates to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
    • Assists Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) with recertification efforts related to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
    • Tracks and monitors specialized program accreditation, program licensure approval, and other required or voluntary approvals of academic programs.
    • Monitors deadlines and ensures timely submission of accreditation reports or renewals.
    • Oversees the use of web-based systems and appropriate software to manage substantive changes, accreditation compliance certification reports, fifth-year reports and supporting documentation.
    • Assists President with responses to external alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
    • Reviews and recommends development and modification of university-wide policies and procedures as they pertain to institutional and programmatic accreditation, policies, and guidelines (e.g., regional accreditation, policies, and guidelines).
    • Member of the University’s Planning and Evaluation Coordinating Council (PECC)
    • Research, negotiate and finalizing articulation agreements drafts for the provost to review, update, and approve. Assists Administrative Services Manager with the maintenance and tracking of active articulation agreements with external organizations.
    • Audit new program curriculum proposals and program change proposals. Provides training when necessary.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements of the position include:

    • A Master’s degree required.
    • Five years of experience in higher education accreditation activities and reporting.
    • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge and understanding of institutional effectiveness.
    • Experience with policy development and implementation and overall university operations.
    • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
    • Knowledge of sound human resource practices and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other related programs and technology.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
    • Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple priorities and observe deadlines.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face to face and via the telephone.
