Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Being a Psychiatrist prescribes psychopharmacological medications as needed. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Additionally, Psychiatrist requires a MD degree. Must have completed a psychiatry residency. Typically reports to a medical director. Typically requires board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Requires a state license to practice.      Responsibilities:

    - Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to determine diagnoses and treatment plans.

    - Provide ongoing psychiatric treatment and medication management to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions.

    - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists and psychiatrists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

    - Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, ensuring the provision of personalized and evidence-based care.

    - Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, documenting patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment interventions.

    - Option to participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay updated with the latest research and best practices.

    - Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and providing culturally sensitive care.


    Qualifications:

    - Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

    - Board certification or eligibility for certification in psychiatry.

    - Valid state medical license and DEA registration.

    - Completion of residency training in psychiatry.

    - Experience in providing outpatient psychiatric services to diverse populations is preferred.

    - Proficiency in conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health disorders, and developing personalized treatment plans.

    - Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

    - Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle a diverse caseload.

    - Commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous professional development.
