Psychologist - M.A. jobs in San Antonio, TX

Excellent opportunity for MA to work with a great team of healthcare professionals in our medical office. Pediatric MA provides basic patient care as ordered. Responsibilities includes, but not limited to the following:

1. Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients. Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments, telephone communication, and biological samples. Collects specimens for laboratory analysis. Documents patient responses, and medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results. Documents patient telephone calls and patient complaints.
2. Administers medications and treatments as directed. Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures. 
3. Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
4. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms. 
5. Recognizes patient’s abnormalities or urgent problems and seeks appropriate assistance; responds appropriately to emergency codes.
6. Fulfills organizational responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient rights; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor.
7. Processes physician’s inbox including notification of patient results and sending out patient refills. Communicates information to other members of health care team.
